PATAGONIA...
Another exciting week has passed in the life of our young adventurer. To wit, Blue, Carolina and Isabel came back exhausted from their hike and along with me and Theresa from England we all got on a bus to El Bolson... charming little town south of Bariloche where we chilled out for a couple of days and me and Blue whipped up our world famous veg dish. We did a mild hike the next day before getting a marathon bus journey down to El Calafate in the south...

The bus journey of 26 hours plus another 5 from Rio Gallegos to El Calafate was made entirely bearable by the excellent company provided by energetic Germans, friendly Israelis and a motley crew of backpackers. Along the way we watched a chickflick and pirated Superman Returns, and arrived at Al Calafate at 3h30 in the morning. All the accommodations full, we finally tracked down a place that turned out to be party central... and the girls did their turn, cooking us up an awesome bolognese feast followed by some good tunes downtown for St Paddys day...
El Calafate is most famous for the massive Moreno Glacier, and that was our main point of contact today. The 5km 60m high glacier is awe-inspiring, and huge chunks of ice regularly split off giving one a visual and audio show that is just AWESOME!
We are all on the 8h30 tomorrow morning to Chile, and a 5 to 8 day hike awaits... but it is getting colder and colder the further we venture south, so this should be interesting... we are essentially heading as far south as you can go without hopping over to Antarctica, this is gonna be a blast!
